Statement

The practice of reflexology inspires the concept of Rüte™. Reflexology is a system of massage used to relieve tension and treat illness, based on the reflex points on the feet, hands, and head linked to every part of the body. On each foot there are over 7,000 nerve endings that correspond to every organ and system within your body; these nerve endings are the roots of the system. Rüte™ aims to treat these nerve endings and help relieve pain and tension.

Ideation & Process

Rüte™ went through a vast exploration of gathering a visual audit for today’s trends, color, design, and also the stigmas around feet. Mind mapping and word banking are how the name manifested, and interviewing the target demographic is how a look and feel was nailed in.

Die-lines

With topical in mind I created a modulating layout that gave interesting tessellation for the foot. Making it blown out to connect with another packages foot to build a bigger picture and that way when it’s on shelves can save space but still draw attention to itself, as shown below.

Thinking about the bottles I created a seamless all in one package on the base to keep the bottle still and from rattling inside the package.

Smart Packaging

Rüte™ utilizes augmented reality. Through the Rüte™ AR app that is downloadable for Android or iPhones. Upon Scanning the packaging, the consumer can access the best approach to their areas of concerns. By tapping on the reflexology chart follow, the consumer get guided massages, learn more about reflexology, and get recommendations of which Rüte™ products to use.
